Update Caterpillar On Sunflower

Here is an update on how our small house guest does – and actually it grows and grows as you can see in the photographs.
Unfortunately it wandered away but I’m sure it found a fabulous place to stay and grow and become something even more wonderful (I believe it will be a beautyful big moth but I’m not sure).

Black and yellow Millipede

I was so thrilled when I saw this beauty at the Siglap area yesterday evening. It was so stunning to watch and I had to take my I-Phone and take some photographs. This tiny little thing was so fast that it was almost impossible to get a sharp photograph – and it didn’t want to stop – but I was lucky and got the following two snapshots. When I came home I looked it up and it is a so called ‘Black and yellow Millipede’ (Anoplodesmus saussurii) and it’s often confused with another guy that smells like almonds and is native to the US. You won’t find this millipede, Harpaphe haydeniana, in Singapore.

‘Oh no’… this was my first thought because this weeks’ challenge is definitely a challenge for me. I normally don’t do any selfies or self portraits. But… it’s really a nice idea to see the faces behind the words and photos and that is the reason why I decided to participate. For wonderful ‘selfies’ have a look @ THE GIRL THAT DREAMS AWAKE (:

HELLO! Nice to meet you (:

Caterpillar on Sunflower

A few days ago I got the sunflower and today, when I watered it, I saw something itsy bitsy tiny crawling on the maroon flowerhead. I took a closer look and discovered a tiny caterpillar with black dots. I really don’t know what caterpillar it is, maybe a moth but not quite sure. It definitely is amazing how this little animal found its way on my flower and so I decided to take some photos. Again I used my I-Phone and the OlloClip for the macros. Have fun! (:

Cee’s Which Way Photo Challenge – August 17, 2016

I’ve got some photos from our previous Singapore Walks around the Quay area, Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay. I wanted to do something different this time, that’s why I used the sepia tones. Enjoy! (:
