Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) is a species of Hibiscus and I really fell in love with this plant. We were at the Garden Centre and I was so stunned by this beautful, delicate pink flowers and reddish buds. But then I spotted something else… it was a hairy little thing on the plant… a wonderful hairy caterpillar – a bit shy but I got a glimpse on it.
The last part of our Southern Ridges Walk took us along the Canopy Walk to Kent Ridge Park and finally to Science Park I. It was an amazing morning with lots to see and photograph and I really enjoyed nature, the city, silence, tranquility and the lush greenery inmidst the Singaporean urban jungle.
A wonderful place to be for all nature lovers and photographers is Hort Park. It brings together gardening-related, recreational, educational, research and retail activities. There’s something for young and old – a beautiful, tranquil & colorful place to be.
Today we walked the Southern Ridges – it’s a unique trail that spans from Mount Faber to Kentridge Park and to Labradore Nature Reserve. It is amazing for nature lovers and photographers. We started early in the morning and it was simply stunning and breathtaking. The Fauna and Flora of Singapore is a beautiful one and even though I took some nice snapshots, they can’t match nature’s real beauty.
For part I of the walk I will show you some photos from Marang Trail to the Forest Walk.
A few days ago I got the sunflower and today, when I watered it, I saw something itsy bitsy tiny crawling on the maroon flowerhead. I took a closer look and discovered a tiny caterpillar with black dots. I really don’t know what caterpillar it is, maybe a moth but not quite sure. It definitely is amazing how this little animal found its way on my flower and so I decided to take some photos. Again I used my I-Phone and the OlloClip for the macros. Have fun! (:
Here are some ‘art-sy’ sunflower photos (:
I used , a wonderful I-Phone App.
I took a photo of the beautiful sunny sunflower in the blue vase and tried something with GIMP to make it look like a painting on canvas.
I love sunflowers and a dear colleague of mine gave me one as a present. It’s a beautiful sunflower with bright yellow ray florets on the outside and the flower head itself is a dark red brown (maroon) while the leaves are hairy and light green . The contrast of the colors is simply stunning. I took some photos with my I-Phone and used the OlloClip for the macros – enjoy (:
I love taking photos with my I-Phone and using different (art) apps to vary the photos.
Recently we bought this beautiful yellow cabinet – I love it! – and I always bring flowers home that go well with the yellow of the cabinet and the bright blue of the old milk pot. One day I decided to photograph the still life and I had this new app – Prisma – that really fascinated me. So I played around and here is the outcome (:
Summer faded with the last ray of sun,
held my hand in its golden lights.
Darkness breaks through the sky, my dear son,
and coldness prepares the winter’s knight.
