Photographers, artists, poets: show us LIFE.
Normally I only do the weekly photo challenge but as it happens I read the daily prompt and I thought by myself: Why not? My blog is about LIFE – living in Asia, my journey, the road I’m on, the colorful and versatile city and the people I meet. So lean back and enjoy the sight behind the curtain of life in Singapore.
A walk along Clarke Quay and its colorful houses always cheers me up
I love the colorful walls and windows
Living in the city means living in the jungle
This house tells a story like our lives tell stories too
How would this place looked like 100 years ago?
I always spot this somewhere on my walks through Chinatown
The Raffles Hotel and its fountain – an oasis in midst the busy city
Not just a snack – when you enjoy fresh hand made dumplings in Chinatown you’ll always get peanuts as appetizer
This old woman is there every time I come by
Handcraft versus consumer society
I love to watch and talk to the people here
The colors are bright and shiny
I always have to stop at the temples because of the scent of the incense
Walking along the stalls at Chinatown Market
These colorful herbs are not only for the eye
Yummie… I love to eat!
Three generations – one picture! Thats’ life
Those are one of my favorite flowers
Everyday life is colorful as well
Under a palm tree – did I mention that I love palm trees?
He stared and didn’t move… I stood there and watched
Have a good journey!
There are so many cats and I’m a big fan of them
Skyscraper and palm tree – you can spot it everywhere
Life means waiting… sometimes
Life is to be filled with wonder
I told you so… I never can resist incense and candles
Colorful life wherever you go
Frangipani… the most wonderful und fragrant flower I know
I love taking a stroll through Chinatown. There are so many small shops in old shophouses, eateries, where you can sit down and drink something refreshing or eat fresh dumplings, black pepper chicken or even durian. It’s busy there but in a way I like it. You can hear many different languages, various scents tickle gently your nose, colors wherever you take a look. Young and old are laughing together, having a chat or a small catnap. Some are heading towards the small temples, others are buying fresh vegetables, eggs, meat and fish in the market hall.
There’s life… and I enjoy it to the fullest.
Shophouse with clinic
Old woman selling pak choi
Old woman selling bananas
A shop in a shophouse
Eating some durian
Time for relaxation
And another bunch of talismans
More colorful talismans
Taking some catnap
Waiting for customers
Strolling through the wet market
These are herbs, too
Sausages and other delicacy
Carelessly discarded lemon
Singapore is a very busy city – so many people try to escape the hustle and bustle.
This man is taking a short nap on the steps of a temple to escape noise, hectic rush and crowded places.
The word CHANGE has so many meanings… you can change, time changes, you can change money or your clothes, prices change and many other things. But today I saw something that changed my mind… since I’ve been living here in Singapore I always find the city pulsating and all the people are busy most of the time. But today I saw that old man lying on a wooden bench among the shades snoozing peacefully – I never experienced such a relaxed atmosphere!
